Deconstructing Glenn Beck Lies

Glenn Beck Hopefully Going Blind

with 5 comments

Glenn Beck as a Blind Child

Beck hopes to go blind so he can get your sympathy dollars

Radio and TV multi-gazillionaire Glenn Beck could lose his sight if everything turns out just right. Or so he says. According to Beck, he paid a doctor “a thousand dollars to tell him something he already knows”. Well, he knows everything, so shouldn’t he just save his money?

Beck says he has some kind of oddball disease called macular dystrophy. His condition has not prevented his eyes from tearing up, however, as he openly wept about his plight before a throng of hundreds. He told God that if he “needed [his] eyes, he could have them.” Yeah, like fat chance God would a) need Beck’s eyes, and b) Beck would have any say in it. They have eye banks, doesn’t God know about those? Don’t these Mormons get it? Not everything is negotiable. Besides, it says in plain English right on the jar that you’re supposed to keep Vapo-Rub out of your friggin’ eyes.

God even took an eye from Jezus, what chance does Glenn have?

If Gawd even took an eye from Jezus, what chance does Glenn have? Glenn better hope the Lawrd doesn't need a slippery, forked tongue.

The sheer irony of this is not lost on anyone. Beck has been operating with “special” eyesight for a long time now, being able to see what everyone else can’t. “Huh?”, we asked. He’s been telling us about these conspiracies, oh, the humanity, can’t you SEEE…. like some kind of demented, rabid animal. He sees things that nobody else would notice. For example, “socialist art” in the Rockefeller building. God DAMN, we’re surrounded by socialism, everywhere!

There is no doubt in my mind that Beck’s condition is treatable, and even though he has a $32 MILLION dollar a year salary, he had the balls to make a comment about getting “good health care while he still can”. This was a cheap shot and an insult to 32 million Americans with no health insurance AT ALL who can’t get treatment unless they go to an emergency room. All right, Glenn, please read this while you can still see, since you say you’re “too lazy to learn braille”. STFU. You piece of human garbage, with your distaste for your fellow man, I hope you get treated by socialists who know what to do with people like you.

I read a story about this over at the San Francisco Chronicle this afternoon, and of course they get lots more hits there than we get at our little website. I would recommend you go over there and read the comments. Those folks in SF can come up with a few good ones, to be sure. Some samples…

“I’ll bet God meant to hit mute but just missed the button”
“I’d recommend that he stop masturbating and drinking wood alcohol immediately.”

It’s no laughing matter when somebody goes blind. Usually. But this SOB is the same person who has mocked the homeless, the downtrodden, the displaced, the unemployed, the disabled, the disfigured, and the disadvantaged. He’s the guy who said “… little Sally Muckenfutch who has a finger where her eye should be so she can’t pick her nose”.

You know what, Glenn? I HOPE you go blind. You need another life lesson, one that you apparently never got as a child, or while you were driving around in your DeLorean snorting coke off the steering wheel and laughing at all the heathens and homos on your radio show. Hell, you don’t NEED to GO blind, you already ARE blind.

OK, Beck, another 90 days

with 5 comments

Glenn Beck wins the Lying Sack of Shit award

Glenn captures America's imagination AND the Lying Sack of Shit award to go with it.

I don’t know what gets into me. I’m going to lift the Mike Wiener “Savage” curse on you and ward it off for ANOTHER 90 days. You don’t deserve it, because by all rights you ought to be selling Gold Bond powder door-to-door. But somehow your Mormon lunacy, smears, phony conservatism, theocratic, paranoid schizophrenic smears and conspiracy theories remain on the air.

For more information on the story, check here, here, here, and here. I have received a lot of email about these gestures of magnanimity, both pro and con. I’d like to think I’m just helping a Mormon boy to make something good out of himself.

Remember the story about King Midas, Glenn? Think about it.

New Pages!

with one comment

Hi everyone-

I’d like to direct you to two new permanent pages we’ve added to the site. You can find them from now on in the site’s sidebar. Wexler has created “TeaBaggers and Other Vermin“, chronicling some of the more stupid and racist events that have been going on within our favorite astroturf group. I, meanwhile, have been working on our new “The 12 Values Deconstructed” page. This is a companion to our older “9 Principles Deconstructed” pages, and it talks about the 9/12 group’s 12 values and picks apart just how foolish it is for Beck of all people to ask that they be followed.

Thanks for your readership, and we look forward to publishing more articles in the future.

Main Street Bites

with 5 comments

Just when you might have thought the Becktardosis had reached its peak, by Beck fantasizing about having nookie with his sister and claiming that he owns civil rights, it gets BETTER! That’s what I love about having a Glenn Beck website…. there is an unending fountain of bubbly, crazy goodness!

In the video below, some woman named Robin Potwora, spokeshole for a group that calls itself “Main Street Bites Back”, postulates that Glenn Beck would be a good President because since HE doesn’t want to be President, and GEORGE WASHINGTON didn’t want to be President, ergo, Glenn Beck would be as good of a President as George Washington! LOL this is totally priceless! Enjoy!

Now I am definitely not a slave to fashion, and I would be the first person to stand up and defend anyone who is being criticized over that which is ‘skin deep’, namely the way somebody looks. However, I just have to ask: are we sure that this person is an Earthling?

Thanks to reporting at Huffington Post by Nicholas Graham.

Update 7/15/10
After I wrote the above, I felt that I was missing something by not making a visit to the website mentioned above. So to do the best reporting I can, I put on my noseplugs and hit the site…

This unfortunate alien-type (thank you, Devo!) won the bronze in Keith Olbermann’s “Worst Persons In The World” segment last night. Geez, Keith, I think she’s cracked, and her logic is hopelessly broken, and so on. But that’s just because she misses her family back on Planet Zorkon.

I went to visit the site http://www.mainstreetbitesback.com/ and I was left with the impression that it was created by unemployed conservative comedians and animation workers who have a lot of racial angst on their hands and too much time to express it. The site automatically starts playing a cartoon of Barack Obama talking about how he’s their unlikely pitch man but he’s going to be needing a job in 3 years so he’s trying to build his resume. (Oh, that’s pure hilarity!) “Barack” goes on to say that he wants everybody to do shout outs. I’m not sure WTF he means by that. I think it’s something Sarah Palin made up, and since there are a certain number of Palin-loving idiots I can see how the phrase would gather a small following.

If you feel as if you would like to contact them, (and I would HIGHLY recommend that you do), their email address is at AOL…

MainStBitesBack@aol.com

They have a phone, too! Call it, it’s toll free! (860) 618-3927

Or if you would like to visit, they are in Torrington, CT. You should probably call for an appointment first. They will send you a free T-Shirt if you send them 50 signatures for their petition. If you send them 100, I’d bet dollars to donuts that alien-lady will meet with you personally.

On the “Save the USA Tag Sale” link, you can buy what appears to be a number of Gucci knock-offs for extraordinary prices. Extraordinarily HIGH, I mean. I am not sure what the connection is between Gucci and Glenn Beck, but I will be emailing this to StopBeck, who is handling the Beck Boycott (and doing a fine job of it.)

OMG. Next link… “Defend Your Party”, a reality show “in development” by Ms. Potawatamie or whatever. Her own description is priceless…

In Development

A

Reality Game Show

‘Defend Your Party’ is a reality game show featuring everyday Main Street Americans going beyond the protest trail to compete for a cash prize that could help their political party win in 2012. A series of competitions ranging from jello wrestling matches to graveyard haunts will test the loyalty, nerves and whit of Americans willing to do just about anything to prove just how red or blue they really are!

Filming Schedule and news release to be posted here soon.

To be a contestant in a coming episode email us:

DefendYourParty@aol.com

LOL I love how she’s going to “test the whit” of Americans. If she tests herself, it will only take half as long. That will save some time.

The Webcast Show link takes you back to the same inane and amateurish “satire” animation of Obama “pitching” MSBB.

Oh, groan. The News Release link “FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE” is headed “Glenn Beck Stands up in 2012″. The headline implies that Beck has decided to run. The story below it just talks about how these hosers have taken the name of the 9.12 Project and incorporated it into their own business. I can’t imagine Glenn would be very happy about any of this, if he ever finds out about it.

The next link, Mission, is a link to the video above. Then they have a Contact link which asks for more money.

OK, now I’ve been there, I can tell you that the site is nothing more than a blatant moneymaking scheme running off of Glenn Beck’s name. Call it a “cottage industry”. The site is utterly devoid of any real content; there is no explanation given about why they think Beck would be a better candidate than anyone else. Oh, I know, it’s because we’re groupies! LOL, please call them today and let them know how much you appreciate and support their idea of Beck for President. Think of the gift to all the other candidates! Beck has more walking-around money than it takes to run. He’s got the Mormons behind him. He’s got the Xtians behind him. He’s got about 1 million viewers behind him. He’s going to beat Obama. What could go wrong?

LOL

Beck vs Temple of Doom: Extend?

with one comment

Dr. Michael Wiener, a.k.a. "da Savage"

This foul-mouthed idiot cursed the Glenn Beck tent to fold by 2009. Can't do it, Mike, there's more incest stories to be told.

Michael Weiner, aka “Mike Savage”, cursed the bee-jeezus out of Glenn Beck which I first reported about in October 2009 HERE. During the curse Dr. Savage (Doctor of Wienerology?) called Glenn a “hemorrhoid with eyes” and cursed him to be “gone from the airwaves” in 90 days”.

Well, I’m not a HUGE fan of Dr. Wiener/Savage, but you know the old saying “Is the enemy of my enemy my friend”? Well, no. Doc Wiener is never going to be my friend, because I don’t befriend fascist, reactionary, ignorant, loud mouths who lie like dogs and write their own history as they go along. However, since he did curse the subject of this blog, it must be taken into consideration.

The original curse expired January 21, 2010. I graciously granted Beck a 90 day extension, because I didn’t think he’d be off the air by then. It’s hard to get this cursy-worsy thingie down to an accurate science, so we shouldn’t be too hard on Dr. Wiener for missing it by 90 or 180 days.

Anyway, I’ve been debating it, mulling it over, so to speak, and I just want to let Glenn know that The Glenn Beck Report is 100% behind you, Glenn, so look behind you wherever you go. We will probably extend your show so you don’t have to be off the air like Dr. Wiener says you do. He’s a nasty old Gentile anyway, not a wholesome Mormon boy like you.

Beck’s Incest Fantasy

If Glenn Beck had a sister, and if he had his way, these might be his twin sons. Who knows, they might be anyway.

If Glenn Beck had a sister, and if he had his way, these might be his twin sons. Who knows, they might be anyway.

I am not exactly sure how I missed this but you have to see it to believe it. Click the link below…

Glenn Beck riffing about doing his sister.

Oh, but it’s to make a point, see, that it’s perfectly normal to be a homophobic bigot.

This video and topic will be explored in an upcoming page that Qu1n1an is working on. This is jaw-dropping. It’s No. Effing. Way. It’s ho-lee scheiss, Bat Man.

It’s Glenn in his own words. Enjoy, if you can keep from laughing and hurling at the same time.

Glenn Beck Program Breakdown – 6/30/10

with 3 comments

Glenn Beck Program – June 30th, 2010

Minute 0: Says that since Kagan doesn’t want to be labeled progressive, all progressives must be ashamed of themselves. Right.

Minute 1: ‘Hello America- sometimes I think you and I are the only ones’. So, what? There’s nobody in other countries? Try proper phrasing sometime.

Minute 1: Talking about how he doesn’t understand things in the news, or why people did the things that they did. Somehow, that doesn’t surprise me.

Minute 2: Says that after news, he’s often left yelling at speaker or commentator. It seems most things leave him yelling.

Play guitar, or handle a disaster. Really, what would you choose?

Minute 4: Using a mock British accent with a foolish character talking about how he was in France when he had the carbon footprint explained to him. Xenophobe extraordinaire.

Minute 5: He keeps misspeaking and correcting himself while looking straight ahead. This guy’s use of a teleprompter is painfully obvious. Obama’s problems my ass.

Minute 6: Talking about Obama taking a long time to accept foreign aid for the spill. Guess who didn’t use any aid at all for a national disaster: If you said G. W. Bush, go to the head of the class.

Minute 7: Talking about EPA not yet having approved a large cleanup vessel that is potentially very helpful. Guess what — some food still being reviewed by the FDA might be yummy, but it could be poisonous too. This is why these things need to be reviewed.

Minute 9: Talking about how Obama is avoiding bank taxes by ending TARP early. Huh- somehow, I think that he would love this move were it under a conservative president. Seriously, I thought he liked the whole ‘no tax’ thing. Hypocrite.

Minute 10: Mow he’s showing an old video where he calls TARP a useless slush fund. Again, he’s defeating his own argument and exposing his own hypocrisy. This man is a walking paradox.

Minute 15: Talking about Obama’s energy & climate legislation. He is baffled by a clear explanation. ‘with a bill that makes clean energy the profitable kind of energy for America’s businesses by putting a price on pollution’. Simple. You can profit with clean energy, because you’ll be charged otherwise. I don’t see the opportunity for confusion. But then again, Mr. Beck always finds something to be inexplicably confused about.

Minute 16: Talking about Eric Holder being in Afghanistan while we’re uncovering Russian spies. Somehow, I think that an illegal war with thousands and thousands of deaths is slightly more important than a few alleged non-violent spies.

Minute 17: Talking about one of the spies, who happened to be Marxist and said that America was cruel, and compared jails to slavery and Arizona’s law to Nazi legislation. Please. After all your Nazi comparisons, I hardly think you can call other people out on theirs.

Minute 18: Implies that Russians have already infiltrated policy-making circles. Just because liberals are smart doesn’t mean that they’re Russian.

Minute 20: Says that Obama wouldn’t meet with Israel after flotilla, but would meet with Russia after spies. GUESS WHAT SMARTY — IT WAS ISRAEL THAT CANCELED THAT MEETING.

Minute 20: Says that he’s used to Russians hating Americans. This anti-Russian thing seems to be a recurring theme with him.

Minute 25: Says that Kagan sends up enough red flags to have her own protest protest at the G-8/G-20. He’d say the same thing about anybody that supported Obama, so I really think we should take everything he says with a grain of salt.

I liked her before - but if Beck hates her, then I may just be in love.

Minute 25: Shows a clip of Kagan (when asked if she was progressive) saying that her politics must be different from her judging. Hm… I guess he wants all of the Supreme Court judges to be religious fanatics.

Minute 26: Talking about liberals not wanting to be known as liberals, instead as progressives. Progress is a good thing, idiot. That’s why you’ll rarely see any conservative progressives. By the way, remember earlier in the program when he did just the opposite and said that Kagan didn’t want to be called progressive?

Minute 26: Implying that all rulings should be taken directly from the constitution. Do you have any idea how many special cases there are? If it were all up to the very old, very incomplete constituition, prison would be full of innocents, bad people would be free, not to even mention the smaller details.

Minute 26: Kagan hearings, questioner asks very pejoratively if the government can tell people what to eat every day. Kagan hesitates for a second before answering (he ends the clip before she answers), and Beck takes that to mean that she wants the government controlling everything we eat. That’s some inspired genius right there.

Minute 28: He says that the health care bill can tell you what to eat. That’s a lie, plain and simple.

Minute 29: Making a HUGE stretch to say that Kagan would ban books, and he doesn’t want somebody who would ban books in the court. Really? Somehow I think that were he in power, he’d be tossing all the liberal stuff out the window. Just look at religion’s colorful history in regards to banned books.

Minute 30: Says political speech should never and can never be banned. Actually, I think you’re wrong. Look at all the racist/homophobic/xenophobic stuff you’ve said on your political show. I think it constitutes hate speech. Thus, if deemed illegal, your political speeches could be outlawed.

Minute 35: Criticizes congressman Pete Stark (my personal favorite congressman, by the way, because of his atheism) for asking a minuteman ‘who he’s going to kill today’. Beck seems to think that all illegals are drug lords and kidnappers.

Minute 37: Says that because we closed off 80 miles along the Arizona border, we’re giving up our sovereignty. I have no idea how that makes sense. The area was simply closed to the public due to safety concerns — the whole ‘giving it back to Mexico’ thing is a blatant lie.

Minute 37: Says that hiring an illegal is modern day slavery. I’m not sure how that works.

Minute 40: Standing up and flailing his arms around. This is entertainment, pure and simple (Oh, and for the record – fair and balanced, my ass).

Minute 40: Now he’s talking about how shameful it is for a congressman to mock his
constituent. Funny seeing how often he mocks his viewers.

Minute 43: He says that we deserve the terrible government that we have. Probably because of people like you. Also, it amuses me how these people constantly forget that their least favorite politicians were VOTED in by popular vote (and that their favorite wasn’t). The sad ones are the minority.

Minute 54: Says that America is with the border patrol agents — he just showed multiple people decrying them. He really needs to understand that he and his viewers do not constitute an entire crazy little country.

Minute 54: Implying that socialists are against the police. As a socialist myself, I am extremely thankful to the police and would like them expanded. I think it’s obvious that Beck and his supporters want the opposite. I’d also like to point out that the police are a socialized service.

Minute 55: He says that people don’t distrust the government, they distrust the people in it. What’s the difference? I’m also sure that’s what the Teabaggers are crying when they march against “big government”.

Minute 59: Again, airtime for his book! He can just never resist the opportunity to make a buck.

Wexler sez…
Thanks for another great redux, Qu1n1an.

Watching Beck is like wading into the Gulf with no HazMat equipment. I just want to help clear a couple of things up.

Beck and the rest of his fellow news monkeys at Faux keep repeating the meme about “Obama wouldn’t accept foreign aid” like it’s some kind of demented mantra that will somehow become true if they keep saying it long enough and loud enough. The facts are not with them on this point. National Incident Commander, Adm. Thad Allen, has stated that there are (and have been) 15 foreign-flagged vessels operating in the Gulf and that the controversy over the “Jones Act” is unfounded. None of the ships granted or denied access to the response effort have been done so because of the Jones Act or a waiver of the Act. So why does Faux/Beck keep repeating it? Because our idiotic, lazy press, led around by their noses, will keep repeating each others’ inaccuracies rather than even stop surfing the porn long enough to Google the facts.

On a personal note, I find it amusing that Beck is trying to re-freeze the Cold War and maybe even heat it up with a few Patriot missile bases. Hating the Russians is a pathological defect of Mormons, who caught the mental disease from their big-shot Cleon Skousen, a paranoid schizo who saw a commie behind every bush. (If you know nothing about the John Birch Society, you ought to do some research so you can get a feel for what the 1950s was like for those of us who grew up then.) Glenn Beck did the Forward for a re-issue of Skousen’s “5000 Year Leap“, a tome that is a theological, logical, and truth-free shipwreck of falsehoods, false reasoning, and false paradigms. This monstrous lie contained between 2 covers is an attempt to prove that God designed the United States of America through creation of the Israelite state. Whoo, what a mess he makes in his intellectual pants. Of course, this book has become key material in the right’s fight to prove that the US is a Christian Nation.

Beck’s point that political speech can’t and shouldn’t be banned is a touchy one. If your goal is to overthrow the US government as a backup plan to losing elections, then your political speech crosses the line into sedition. I believe that the tone of Glenn Beck is obviously and demonstrably seditious and will attempt to prove that his content is as well elsewhere on this site.

Glenn Beck Fail: “We own Civil Rights”

with 33 comments

Glenn Beck has made a colossal misjudgment by attempting turn the most pivotal speech of the 20th Century into an attempt to hawk his moronic books.

Dr. Martin Luther King, "I have a dream" speech, 8/28/1963

This has nothing to do with Mormons, GOP white power and homophobia, de facto racial caste systems, and especially not Glenn Beck

Forty-seven years ago this August, as we neared the end of legal racial discrimination in this nation, the civil rights battle was being waged in the trenches. Black and white marchers were being attacked and sometimes killed in the streets by mobs of white supremacists and the KKK. College students organized and disrupted business-as-usual in selected towns across the country. The intellectuals, socialists, anarchists, musicians, and clergy across the spectrum of left politics joined with black civil rights leaders to pressure the US Government to intervene on behalf of racial minorities to pass national legislation to outlaw racial discrimination in employment, public services, and elsewhere.

Into this rich sea of civil disobedience, protests, riots, lynchings, music, murder, and mayhem, a new historical revision is being trotted out by Glenn Beck and a few others who are shameless enough to try it. Here’s how it goes, according to Beck:

I have to tell you something. I believe in divine providence. I believe this is a reason, because whites don’t own the founding fathers. Whites don’t own Abraham Lincoln. Blacks don’t own Martin Luther King.

I tell you right now, we are on the right side of history, we are on the side of individual freedoms and liberties and damn it, we will reclaim the civil rights moment. We will take that movement because we were the people that did it in the first place.

Oh, so let’s see now, you’re saying that since nobody “owns” Abraham Lincoln or Dr. King due to being the same race, then the reactionary white racists of today led by the TeaBaggers, the GOP (former Dixiecrats), the 2nd Amendment pukes like the OathKeepers, homophobes and religious fanatics, can now take credit for civil rights???? Not only take credit for it, not only own it, but be the guardians of civil rights!

Beck says that his people, whomever they are, are going to “reclaim” the civil rights movement. He says they will reclaim it because “we were the people that did it in the first place.”

Let me interject one thing here. This is a partial rewrite of what I posted last night, and I didn’t have a couple of those quotes I used above. But let me assure you since I was THERE, I can attest to the plain truth that Glenn Beck and anyone who is like him today, if they were involved at all, were on the other side of the barricade.

Al Sharpton was the guest on Keith Olbermann’s show tonight (July 1) and the topic came around to the Glenn Beck book sale in the general area of the Lincoln Memorial scheduled for August 28. This coincides, not by any coincidence, with the 47th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I Have A Dream” speech, one of the most powerful and best-remembered speeches in American history. 200,000 civil rights movement supporters heard the speech live, jamming the Memorial and the reflecting pool mall with a sea of humanity that has only been outdone by Barack Obama’s Inaugural Address.

Mr. Sharpton pointed out that Beck’s thesis that his people are the heirs to the civil rights movement is so flawed as to be ridiculous. And he did it without even bringing up the racial issues (such as the fact that Mormons believe that black people are cursed by God and refused to let them enjoy the privileges of male membership until forced to in 1978). First, according to Sharpton, the TeaBaggers and such are the people who are always railing against Big Government, and now Beck is revising that to say that they were in favor of the national government of the US intervening in every aspect of Jim Crow to stop it. How effing stupid would you have to be to swallow THAT? Second, the people that Dr. King ran with were socialist, liberals, commies, and other people who are the political opposite of what the Becktards believe in. They constantly scream about “liberal elitists” and see “socialist plots” in any action that the government takes.

Dr. King had a dream; Glenn Beck has a scheme and it's to grab every goddam dollar he can get his money-grubbing mitts on

Dr. King had a dream; Glenn Beck has a scheme and it's to grab every goddam dollar he can get his money-grubbing mitts on

Thirdly, and probably most importantly, is that the GOP, the TeaBaggers, and their ilk, are the Party of Grabbasticism. They are not “anti-socialism” they are ANTI-SOCIAL. They have no idea whatsoever, no concept, of living in a community, a nation, with the commitment to each other that we all sink or swim together.

Grabbasticism is the term I like to use for “I got mine, SCREW YOU.” They never gave a crap about any person of color, back in 1863, 1963, or today. The only use they have for Latinos is doing yard work and working in nursing homes cleaning shit out of the diapers of their parents, whom they have no use for whatsoever once the inheritance is decided. The only use for blacks, well, they have NO use for them now that slavery is illegal. The GOP looks at black people as The Enemy. They will never vote GOP, never.

I will write more on Beck’s cracked thesis that he now leads the movement that “owns” civil rights as the August 28th date approaches. I believe that this is a HUGE miscalculation on his part; although there is no planned counter-demonstration at this time, I predict that August 28 will be a national day of humiliation that will generate so much anti-Beck backlash that even Fox will have to pull the plug on it.

Glenn Beck is going to play his hand. For a cheap chance to gather up a few complete idiots willing to part with their money, he is going to open up the wounds that were healed by the Civil Rights Act or 1964. He is going to make America relive the ugly truth, he is going to make us look in the mirror. Some of us will not like what we see.

Stay tuned….

Update 7/8/10

Today Glenn tried to prove a couple of idiotic points about a dead person. (Just a thought, Glenn… I know you think you’re going to live forever, but what do you think people are going to say about you and your sister-screwing ass after you’re gone?)

OK so here’s the scoop. Beck thinks that it’s a “liberal media plot” that there is no film of Senator Robert Byrd filibustering the Civil Rights Act in 1964. First the fact, then the assumption.

The FACT is that no cameras were allowed in the Senate except for special occasions until 1974. Um, what’s the word I’m looking for here… um, IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, you DO ALL YOUR OWN RESEARCH, DO YOU???? Has anyone told you about Google, Glenn?

Now for the assumption. The assumption here is part of Glenn’s bigger argument that Byrd filibustered Civil Rights, and Byrd was a Democrat, and THEREFORE, (are you paying attention, Beck U students? This will be on the FINAL!) the GOP especially Glenn Beck OWNS Civil Rights!

What did Robert Byrd actually say about his positions on race?

Bernard Shaw interview, 1993:

Q: What has been your biggest mistake and your biggest success?

A: Well, it’s easy to state what has been my biggest mistake. The greatest mistake I ever made was joining the Ku Klux Klan. And I’ve said that many times. But one cannot erase what he has done. He can only change his ways and his thoughts. That was an albatross around my neck that I will always wear. You will read it in my obituary that I was a member of the Ku Klux Klan.

The NAACP “report card” gave Byrd a 100% voting record for 2003-2004. This may affect Beck’s report card at the University of Truth.

Glenn Beck Fail: "We own Civil Rights"

with 32 comments
