The Glenn Beck Report

In another stunning gesture of non-partisanship, Glenn Beck has donated $10,000 to the US Chamber of Commerce to prove that not all of its donations are coming from foreign nationals who are trying to buy influence in the USA.

The controversy is rooted in the Citizens United decision by the right wing US Supreme Court, in which the Court decided that free speech equals money and vice versa. Therefore, anyone who can afford to pay for TV and radio advertising can buy as much of it as they can, for any political candidate as they see fit, and remain anonymous. This has opened the door to the charge that foreign corporations and individuals as well as American companies wishing to bypass existing laws are washing the cash in by the boatloads, almost 100% of it being used in attack ads against Democrat candidates.

So, in order to “prove” that not all the money comes from overseas, Glenn gave his donation to the Chamber while on air because he’s living in America despite the questions raised about which planet he may have been hatched on. Way to go, Glenn, and I’m sure the Chamber will know just what to do with your 10 grand. They will find a place to put it, accusing the poor of being deadbeats, trying to eliminate the minimum wage, attempting to bust unions, hold businesses harmless for their desecration of the American landscape and waterways, and other activities designed to keep the 90% of us “in our place” to preserve the status quo.

Glenn Beck will be taking a couple of days off his show. No, he’s not organizing another rally for misguided black people. No, he’s not holding a seminar to teach more murderers the dangers of environmentalist non-profits. He’s taking some time off for – wait for it – health reasons. Now, you’re probably thinking the same thing that I did – “now, shouldn’t he have taken the last 10 years off to focus on his mental health?” Well, I’d of course tend to agree with that, but conservative conspiracy theorists have never been known for their concerned attitude towards their own mental well-being. Anyway, getting back on topic, Beck has apparently dished out plenty of money for some decent doctors (hopefully they’ll let him die if he gets behind on a $75 payment), and they’re telling him that he’s messed up. Apparently he’s lost feeling in his hands and feet, he’s having problems with his voice (I’m sure it has nothing to do with daily shouting), and of course his macular dystrophy is rearing its head again. Supposedly doctors have been doing all kinds of crazy blood work on him, even searching for toxic elements.

Well, I’m going to take the high road here, and say that I hope he does NOT die. Instead, I wish that he would renounce his superstitions, donate all his millions of dollars to the noble causes he’s spent years slandering, and spend time lecturing on the dangers of conservatism and Mormonism. In hindsight, however, that seems pretty wishful, so let’s just hope his karma catches up with him in the form of that voice he used to tell so many lies and ruin so many admirable entities gets completely taken away from him. In fact, I think I’d pay to go see the “Glenn Beck sign language ranting hour”.

Like I said, I’m not hoping he dies. I’m hoping he disappears from the public circle. If he did die, though, I don’t think I would go protest his funeral like I’m sure many others would. If he died, he’d be done. He’d be off the air and he’d be done influencing people, and that’s really all I ever wanted out of him. Besides, the only funeral that I ever plan to protest is Fred Phelps’s. If you want to talk about what you think karma owes him, go ahead and do that in the comments below. But for now, get pleasure out of the idea that his next few cries of outrage will be because of a needle sticking three inches into his arm.

Byron Williams, the right wingnut who armed himself to the teeth and then couldn’t drive in a straight line as he was on his way to murder a building full of innocent people, says Glenn Beck was his teacher and motivator.

Williams confessed via hospital interview back on July 18, when the event occurred, that he was en route to shoot up the Tides Foundation and the ACLU because he wanted to “start a revolution”. The Tides Foundation, founded in 1976 by an anonymous New Mexico couple, has the mission of funding groups and individuals who work for positive social change. Some examples of its philanthropy have been the creation of the Thoreau Center for Sustainability, Groundspring/Network For Good, and its own initiatives in Social Justice, Reproductive Rights, Voter Involvement, and Economic Justice. The ACLU has been working to ensure the Constitutional rights of everyone in the US since 1920.

Byron Williams says that the only reason he watches Fox News Channel is because Glenn Beck is on Fox. He claims that Beck has been a teacher to him, and the specific plot that Beck uncovered for him was the link between Obama, George Soros, a Brazilian oil company, and the BP disaster. Williams claims to have researched these connections by himself and that Glenn Beck confirmed them on TV.

Williams also said that Glenn Beck is like a “schoolteacher on TV”.

The Smoking Gun

This is proof that right wing hate speech motivates people with mental disorders to commit crimes. We all need to wonder when the next act of Glenn Beck-inspired domestic terrorism will strike. Of course, Beck will now claim to be the victim of a government plot to shut him up.

Glenn, if anyone seriously cared if you shut up, you’d be gone by now. Most people think you’re a whack job, the missing link between murderous Mormons and gun-toting Xtians who wants to lead the nation into the next religious awakening. You’re a dope. Idiot America only professes to be religious. They’re not actually religious.

In the crazy world of Glenn Beck’s morality, he supports letting the fire department stand and do nothing while your family burns up in front of your eyes. Why? Because it will teach people to pay their Fire Department tax.

The incredible case of Tennessee resident Gene Cranick whose house was allowed to burn to the ground over a $75 oversight boggles the mind. There is something instructive here and everyone who is not independently wealthy OR anyone who still believes that we are ALL AMERICANS should stand up and take notice.

You should take notice because the Glenn Becks of this country would let your house and your family burn up before your eyes rather than put the fire out if you forgot to send in your “fire department dues”. That’s right. They would let your family BURN ALIVE while you stand there and watch.

What happened to the idea that we all pull together? What happened to the notion that emergency services are something that we all need from time to time so we pay taxes and that takes care of it? What are you going to do after the Teabaggers get into power and you have to pay $200 a month for police service because you live in a bad neighborhood… or else, if someone robs you and you call 911 the dispatcher will say “our records indicate that there is no active police subscription at this address”.

WTF!? Is this the America that YOU want to live in?

How DARE Glenn Beck, making $32 million a year off of Idiot America, suggest that this guy deserved to lose his home (and possibly his family) because of $75? Glenn Beck has no moral standing to make this comment. He is without morals, that’s OBVIOUS. What sort of person is so callous that they support this crazy Teabagger alternate reality where everyone is on their own? The Glenn Beck, type, that’s who.

All of you Beckerheads should take notice. Your Mormon asshole Mr. Beck would let your house burn down, too. He’s not a person who supports the concept of America as an interdependent group of people who band together to achieve goals for the common good. He’s for one thing… sell you a book.

Glenn Beck suggested that he would shove a carrot stick up the First Lady’s ass to a packed house at the “Right Nation” convention in Chicago on 9/17/10.

Michelle Obama, who has promoted the idea (as have many health insurance companies, MDs, and conservative pundits like Glenn Beck) that people should take responsibility for their own health by eating healthy foods like carrot sticks, became the target of Beck’s foul mouth and sick mind on Friday. What is with this religious right stuff? Why does a Mormon get to lecture the Religious Right and how does he get away saying this to ANYBODY?

“Get away from my french fries, Mrs. Obama. First politician that comes up to me with a carrot stick, I’ve got a place for it. And it’s not in my tummy.”

Has America lost its mind? When did the Republicans become so desperate and cynical that they let a bastard like Beck stand before them and threaten Michelle Obama? The so-called “Christian Right” is now a fully-owned subsidiary of uber-rightwing PACs who fund events like this, pump millions into GOP candidate’s advertising coffers to misrepresent reality, and snigger like 5th graders at Glenn Beck’s perverted schoolboy “humor” as he proceeds with lie after lie about the role of religion in government. The Religious Right is so desperate to get back into power that they have thrown any pretense of being a force for decency out the window. They are now just rabid haters who will listen to any ginned-up controversy Beck frames in his psychotic world view, nasty and vicious personal attacks, and of course, endless lying.

This should be called out by any and every Democrat, including the President, and Beck should be put in his place. The First Presidency of the Mormon Cult is DEFECTIVE if he thinks that God wants Glenn Beck out there saying things like that and much worse.

This is a public outrage and it is also an EPIC FAIL. Why? Because by making a statement like that Beck has revealed that he is not only NOT a “Christian”, he’s also not even a “Mormon”, unless the Mormons are now condoning their high-profile cult members running their mouths like they have something to say. Beck has now backed the First Presidency into a corner. If something is not done soon, he will hold more power over Mormons than the “church” does.

Glenn Beck knows when he’s behind the 8 ball in the internet game. With sites like StopBeck.com, Glenn-Beck-Sucks.com, and this one, he can’t even sneeze and let a little gas out at the same time without one or all of us all over it like a big dog. He was totally unable to control the message on his 8-28 Rally, which by many estimates was a colossal flop. For example, Beck tried and failed to sneak Ted Nugent off of the speaker list after someone pointed out to Glenn that Ted is a foul-mouthed, misogynist, racist, bondage-loving freak that had the potential to turn the Rally into a Geek Show.

So here comes Glenn with his own “news” website. Guess who’s going to do the “news” for him? Why, it’s Scott Baker, formerly of Breitbart TV! Why not? They sure are known for their journalistic integrity. Breitbart never met a lie he couldn’t amplify and repeat, so I’m sure Baker will fit in just fine with the Beck machine. The photo to the left is Beck and Baker from 10/9/09 discussing a wild and totally made up conspiracy theory involving Wade Rathke, Deepak Bhargava, and Barack Obama. Ohmigod, they gush, Deepak Bhargava and Obama were at Harvard at the SAME TIME! It’s another plot to overthrow the government and turn us into Kenya!

Quinlan and I would like to take this opportunity to repeat our challenge to Glenn Beck to debate a topic we agree upon with a partner of his choice. It will be a judged collegiate Lincoln-Douglas format. We know he won’t take it because he’s a craven coward who can’t defend his own bullshit when confronted with the truth.
