Beck hopes to go blind so he can get your sympathy dollars

Radio and TV multi-gazillionaire Glenn Beck could lose his sight if everything turns out just right. Or so he says. According to Beck, he paid a doctor “a thousand dollars to tell him something he already knows”. Well, he knows everything, so shouldn’t he just save his money?

Beck says he has some kind of oddball disease called macular dystrophy. His condition has not prevented his eyes from tearing up, however, as he openly wept about his plight before a throng of hundreds. He told God that if he “needed [his] eyes, he could have them.” Yeah, like fat chance God would a) need Beck’s eyes, and b) Beck would have any say in it. They have eye banks, doesn’t God know about those? Don’t these Mormons get it? Not everything is negotiable. Besides, it says in plain English right on the jar that you’re supposed to keep Vapo-Rub out of your friggin’ eyes.

If Gawd even took an eye from Jezus, what chance does Glenn have? Glenn better hope the Lawrd doesn't need a slippery, forked tongue.

There is no doubt in my mind that Beck’s condition is treatable, and even though he has a $32 MILLION dollar a year salary, he had the balls to make a comment about getting “good health care while he still can”. This was a cheap shot and an insult to 32 million Americans with no health insurance AT ALL who can’t get treatment unless they go to an emergency room. All right, Glenn, please read this while you can still see, since you say you’re “too lazy to learn braille”. STFU. You piece of human garbage, with your distaste for your fellow man, I hope you get treated by socialists who know what to do with people like you.

I read a story about this over at the San Francisco Chronicle this afternoon, and of course they get lots more hits there than we get at our little website. I would recommend you go over there and read the comments. Those folks in SF can come up with a few good ones, to be sure. Some samples…

He’s the guy who said “… little Sally Muckenfutch who has a finger where her eye should be so she can’t pick her nose”.

You know what, Glenn? I HOPE you go blind. You need another life lesson, one that you apparently never got as a child, or while you were driving around in your DeLorean snorting coke off the steering wheel and laughing at all the heathens and homos on your radio show. Hell, you don’t NEED to GO blind, you already ARE blind.

Just when you might have thought the Becktardosis had reached its peak, by Beck fantasizing about having nookie with his sister and claiming that he owns civil rights, it gets BETTER!  That’s what I love about having a Glenn Beck website…. there is an unending fountain of bubbly, crazy goodness!

Now I am definitely not a slave to fashion, and I would be the first person to stand up and defend anyone who is being criticized over that which is ‘skin deep’, namely the way somebody looks.  However, I just have to ask:  are we sure that this person is an Earthling?

This unfortunate alien-type (thank you, Devo!) won the bronze in Keith Olbermann’s “Worst Persons In The World” segment last night. Geez, Keith, I think she’s cracked, and her logic is hopelessly broken, and so on. But that’s just because she misses her family back on Planet Zorkon.

I went to visit the site http://www.mainstreetbitesback.com/ and I was left with the impression that it was created by unemployed conservative comedians and animation workers who have a lot of racial angst on their hands and too much time to express it. The site automatically starts playing a cartoon of Barack Obama talking about how he’s their unlikely pitch man but he’s going to be needing a job in 3 years so he’s trying to build his resume. (Oh, that’s pure hilarity!) “Barack” goes on to say that he wants everybody to do shout outs. I’m not sure WTF he means by that. I think it’s something Sarah Palin made up, and since there are a certain number of Palin-loving idiots I can see how the phrase would gather a small following.

OK, now I’ve been there, I can tell you that the site is nothing more than a blatant moneymaking scheme running off of Glenn Beck’s name. Call it a “cottage industry”. The site is utterly devoid of any real content; there is no explanation given about why they think Beck would be a better candidate than anyone else. Oh, I know, it’s because we’re groupies! LOL, please call them today and let them know how much you appreciate and support their idea of Beck for President. Think of the gift to all the other candidates! Beck has more walking-around money than it takes to run. He’s got the Mormons behind him. He’s got the Xtians behind him. He’s got about 1 million viewers behind him. He’s going to beat Obama. What could go wrong?

Vapo-Rub or ratings dive? Or both?

Glenn is already known for his psychotic episodes on live television.  There is talk that a high percentage, even as much as 60% of his audience, tunes in because of the train wreck freak show.  It’s not because they like Glenn or agree with him, they want to see the man-baby melt down.

On Friday, May 7, Glenn didn’t disappoint.  He was hosting his “Founder Friday” show, where he “educates” an audience of handpicked, paid actors about topics that any school kid in America already knows about.  Except with Glenn, it’s like he just discovered it and it’s so moving, it’s so, it’s, it’s…. WAAAAAHHHH!

So Beck starts up about George Washington, whose greatness Glenn attempts to usurp and caricature as his OWN greatness by assumption.  The assumption is that Glenn is an authority to judge the relative merits of George Washington as a President by him having a TV show and having read a book (or claiming to have read it).   Glenn measures his own greatness by implying that he is actually informing you about the greatness of George Washington.  Sorry, Glenn, but you screwed the pooch on this one.  You don’t have the gray matter upstairs to interpret history.  Those of us who actually have studied history, particularly American history and government, already know that you are a whack job full of misinformation looking for a gullible, uninformed vidiot to dump it on.

Therefore Friday’s show was a perfect example of how Glenn can’t help from choking up when he’s telling you about his right wing Mormon fantasies concerning America.  If I were a director, at 3:27 of this short segment I’d be yelling “CUT. Where’s the motivation???”

Glenn breaks down in tears over the notion that as the American government was forming in post-Revolutionary America, people thought that Washington would be a natural for President as he had already proven himself to be a leader and had name recognition (mostly good).  WTF, Glenn.  What’s to cry about, man-baby?  Did you forget to take your Xanax again?

OMIGOD.  Again, at 7:10, Glenn can’t stand the idea of Washington having to put on glasses to read a letter.  Holy Mormon juice, Glenn, if you’re going to cry about that, why don’t you ever cry about the millions of Americans who can’t even get glasses when they need them because they don’t have insurance that pays for vision?  (I’m wearing a prescription that is at least 8 years old and sometimes my eyes water but it ain’t because I watch Glenn Beck and need a good cry.)

Karl Marx stated that the history of society is the history of class struggle.  Can anyone deny that since Ronald Reagan took office we have been doing exactly the same thing here in America?  I would entertain arguments that we have been fighting this fight long before Reagan, but as a child of the 50s, I sure see the balance of power shifting markedly up the food chain after Reagan’s inauguration.  During Bush’s term the population had to be held in check by fear, even as Bush’s banditos rode out of town with the loot in September 2008.  Now it’s becoming clearer exactly how the American economy was hijacked and ripped off.  The GOP seems to have taken sides with Wall Street, which is where Libertarians are as well.  No government regulations, right?  So where does that leave the Average Joe TeaBagger?

I’ll tell you where.  This is now the perfection of cognitive dissonance in a political movement.  In order to be a TeaBagger, you have to believe that the government should stay out of regulating the banks and financial institutions that have stolen the country blind.

I just learned today via The Progress Report that Glenn Beck has lost every single sponsor for his UK version of the show. The digest email that I get refers back to an article at Think Progress by Amanda Terkel, who quotes two of my cultural heroes. Those would be Color of Change and StopBeck.com. Please give them a click; they have been instrumental in the effort to boycott sponsors of Glenn Beck’s show and force him off the air. I consider myself a mere dabbler in comparison to these true warriors for justice.

I have been over to the 912 Project site (guilty pleasure, kind of like staring at an impending train wreck).

They had a link to an article about the “true” meaning of Thanksgiving… and it’s not what you might expect. The story is that the TRUE meaning of Thanksgiving is celebrating the Pilgrims’ freedom to practice… wait for it… capitalism after escaping European socialism!

OK, it’s Thanksgiving and my wife and I just prepared and ate a very nice dinner which we made with our own 4 socialist/secular humanist hands. I’ve done some thinking about that friggin’ article that was even too WHACKED for the 912 Project. Here’s my response to the notion that the Pilgrims came here to escape socialism.

You’re ignorant LIARS. The Pilgrims came here so that they could practice their own religion, not to practice capitalism. But they DID practice capitalism, and how! And if you want to know how American capitalism works, the indigenous people that sat with the Pilgrims during the first Thanksgiving dinner provide us with a PERFECT illustration. American capitalism works by using power and deception to take whatever you want from those who don’t have the means to defend it, and if they get in the way just go ahead and wipe ‘em out.

Glenn Beck's distended appendix will be baptized in a ceremony at an undisclosed Mormon Tabernacle and buried next to his hemorrhoids.

Many of my readers will be saddened to know that Glenn Beck was stricken with appendicitis last week and thereby missed out on taking an active role in Michele Bachmann’s Teaparty Extravaganza/FAIL on Thursday.

One of my Twitter followers pointed out that I neglected to cover Glenn in a tweet that I made regarding his illness.
The Tweet was something along the line of

Each year 390 Americans die from appendicitis. Why couldn’t one of them have been Glenn?

In an effort to set the record straight, I wanted to post it here because I know the little man-baby egomaniac stops by here on a regular basis. (He does all his own research, you know, PLUS he’s a paranoid little ‘tard who thinks everyone is out to get him. GLENN, take your meds, dude, NOBODY really gives a shit.) I wanted to make sure that he gets the message even if his manservant won’t read insulting, bad tweets to him.

In related news, ThinkProgress had a story that postulates that Glenn is likely in the care of SEIU nurses. Oooh, SCARY! I wonder if Glenn has thought that through, and if so, did he double his around-the-clock no-neck staff plus his team of personal physicians? LOL!

Glenn is probably still sore about what happened to his ass last time he was in the hospital. He made the famous video clip where he’s obviously feeling very sorry for himself and wonders how all the people with no insurance who aren’t millionaire media stars make it. Obviously that hasn’t changed his position on health insurance reform, though, because THAT’S an Obama socialist fascist Nazi plot! LOL here we go….

Glenn says that his care was incredibly bad and he has stories that will “melt your brain”. For some reason he brings up the “president of GE” as being a patient there (is that public information? I don’t think so…) and if “they don’t care about the president of GE, you really think they care about schlubs that are just average working stiffs?” WTF are you talking about, Glenn? Are you comparing yourself to the president of GE? Are you calling yourself a “working stiff” with your estimated $18 million annual income?

I truly believe that whatever happened to Glenn Beck while he was in the hospital was a visit from Instant Karma and I don’t think he “got” it. Glenn, you’re not a schlub, you’re a schmuck. And Mormons don’t use words like that, it’s against your cult orders. BTW, are you even circumcised? If not, don’t worry about it, they can have you in and out of there before you can say “Bony Moroni”.

Paranoid schizophrenics have a special knack for detecting conspiracies that normal people like you and me would never see. I have known two of them up close and personal. One was a brilliant gent who had been at the top of his class at the US Coast Guard Academy and had a nervous breakdown from the pressure. He was OK if he stayed on his meds, which he didn’t like to do because they “made his brain feel like it was frozen”. He worked on and off, and he was convinced that while he was out “they” were coming into his apartment and “doing things”. I tried to pin John down as to exactly what “they” were doing during a desperate phone conversation we had one night; he called because he feared he was going to get violent. Two of the things he mentioned were that “they” had gone into his closet and removed a button from one of his shirts, and “they” also had moved or somehow screwed up his ship-in-a-bottle project. “They” had also rigged his TV, radio, and phone so that “they” could secretly watch him and listen to him. These nights ended badly for John, usually with 5 cops on top of him trying to get him into handcuffs. By the time he called me it was always too late. He had stopped taking his meds, hadn’t slept for 3 or 4 days, and the only thing I could do was call his sister, who lived 300 miles away, so she could come and mop up the mess. Sad.

The other person was a guy named Don who was in his mid-20s. Don was a typical central Wisconsin teenage kid who liked to drink and drive every weekend with a car full of friends. Don woke up early one December morning in the middle of a snow-covered field next to Wisconsin Highway 29. In the field with Don were two wrecked cars, including the one he was DWI, and eight bodies. Three of them were passengers in his car, five had been passengers in the car Don hit when he ran the stop sign and drove onto 29 from the dirt drinkin’ road. Nobody showed up on the scene for quite a while so Don had plenty of time to be alone with the dead.

When I met him several years after the crash, Don was hearing voices that told him what to draw on his apartment wall. The drawing was bizarre, with lots of vines and insects. The voices spoke to him while I was visiting once, and he told me what they were saying. It was incomprehensible, but he was threatened by “them” and felt compelled to comply or something terrible would happen. The last time I saw Don, I drove him to the hospital and helped him check himself into the Psych Ward for another 30 day evaluation.

I forced myself to listen to the Glenn Beck radio program segment about OnStar and Obama because I wanted to see if I could find any connection between Glenn, John, and Don.

Yes, I did. The language and dialect of paranoia sounds the same when coming from a schizophrenic or coming from someone who is trying to stoke the boiler sitting under a giant stewpot of fear. Glenn uses the same phraseology of my friends John and Don. “How can you trust the government? The government is listening to my conversations. The government is tracking me. The government has ruined our future and they plan to make it worse. The government can stop your car and let the air out of your tires!”

It’s not as if Glenn Beck woke up on Thursday and discovered that OnStar exists. It’s not even that Glenn woke up to the fact that the government has been illegally spying on telephone conversations, email, and other communications of Americans (he says he’s OK with that). But letting the air out of your tires… that’s the last straw for Glenn. The government can let the air out of my tires. Whoa.

Glenn’s sudden, irrational fear of the US Government taking control of his car is based on the false premise that the bailout of GM was a government takeover of GM. I am going to assume that anyone who reads this will know on some level that the government does not control GM’s business activities, its management, its workers, its purchasing, or any part of GM that still survives. GM faced a situation where they would have failed and hundreds of thousands of people would have lost their jobs, creating a shock wave through the entire economy. So they took government assistance to avoid an outright failure. Does Glenn Beck really believe that GM is now acting as a spy agency for the Obama Administration?

To back this claim up, Glenn told us that he had visited the OnStar central office and seen all the operators and the maps, looking like a hi-tech war room. The person who was touring Glenn told him that OnStar has the capability of turning off a car remotely, which they didn’t do at the time but are now advertising on TV as an anti-theft measure.

And all of this would have been OK if only the Maoists hadn’t taken control of the government. Glenn does something dishonest, again, by taking a quote out of context. This time his misquoted person is Ron Bloom, the Administration’s Senior Counselor for Manufacturing Policy (or as Glenn would say, the Manufacturing Czar, ooooh, scary!) Bloom’s actual words follow, I have highlighted the excerpt that Glenn Beck used on his show:

BLOOM: The second thing about us is we’ve decided to get on the field. Some unions and our union, in fact, some years ago, largely played defense in these situations. We had what we had and we tried to protect it. What we realized through long and often painful experience is that management matters, business strategy matters, capital structure matters, ownership matters. We spent a long time trying to clean up the messes that others had left us. And so now we try to create our own messes. This is more dangerous politically, it’s more difficult. It has higher risk. We think it has higher reward. But in any event, in these cases where we can be on the field, you should expect to find us on the field.

Generally speaking, we get the joke. We know that the free market is nonsense. We know that the whole point is to game the system, to beat the market, or at least find someone who will pay you a lot of money because they’re convinced that there is a free lunch. We know this is largely about power, that it’s an adults-only, no-limit game. We kind of agree with Mao that political power comes largely from the barrel of a gun. And we get it that if you want a friend you should get a dog.

What Bloom is talking about is how labor has realized that the “free market system” is rigged against labor, and the statistics bear this out. Since Reagan began his union-busting with the air traffic controllers strike in the early 80s, the percentage of union jobs in America has decreased from about 55% to about 7%. The system is rigged, it is anti-labor, and it is about raw political power. He doesn’t state that he wants to murder 10s of millions of people, he simply states the political truth. If you want the political truth, about the last place you ought to be checking for it is Glenn Beck’s shows.

So, Glenn, you little paranoid weasel, here’s the scoop. OnStar isn’t listening to your conversations any more than I am. They are not tracking you, they are a private business that operates a service which people pay for. Most people think it’s a good idea to have OnStar anti-theft protection. The US Government doesn’t care where you go and if they did they could just look at your cell phone information. Ron Bloom is not a Maoist any more than you are. In fact, he may be less of a Maoist than you are because he cares about what happens to people in the workforce and you don’t, you care about the people in the ivory towers.

One last thing. I hate to be the one to let the air out of your gasbag paranoid frenzy, but if the government wants to let the air out of your tires they will probably use spike strips.

Pfffffffffffffft. Glenn Beck the punching clown deflates again.

Beck is cluelessly trying to wage class warfare by taking a news bite that Pelosi is planning to host a two day issues conference at her home.  The Politico story Glenn is referring to here seems to be taking issue with the political reality that politicians have big donors and they hold events to raise money.  Glenn spins the story with numerous sarcastic statements designed to make you angry that Pelosi has money.  But wait… when GOPERs get rich, that’s OK, right, Glenn?  Or maybe not, because at 1:28 of the video clip Glenn oddly inserts a comment into his rant about Eric Cantor’s fundraiser for lobbyists where he raised $1 million.  Have you suddenly become a Marxist, Glenn?

Beck quickly goes back to his Pelosi theme, though, and at 1:45 or so the camera pans over to show another figure sitting at the table with Glenn.

The rest is classic.  Death threat to Nancy Pelosi at 2:34.  Glenn seems to come unglued after that, laughing insanely at a joke only he seems to get, dropping names and acting like the  grubby child from the wrong side of the tracks that decent people wouldn’t let their kids play with.  What a goofball.
