The Glenn Beck Report

Radio and TV multi-gazillionaire Glenn Beck could lose his sight if everything turns out just right. Or so he says. According to Beck, he paid a doctor “a thousand dollars to tell him something he already knows”. Well, he knows everything, so shouldn’t he just save his money?

Beck says he has some kind of oddball disease called macular dystrophy. His condition has not prevented his eyes from tearing up, however, as he openly wept about his plight before a throng of hundreds. He told God that if he “needed [his] eyes, he could have them.” Yeah, like fat chance God would a) need Beck’s eyes, and b) Beck would have any say in it. They have eye banks, doesn’t God know about those? Don’t these Mormons get it? Not everything is negotiable. Besides, it says in plain English right on the jar that you’re supposed to keep Vapo-Rub out of your friggin’ eyes.

The sheer irony of this is not lost on anyone. Beck has been operating with “special” eyesight for a long time now, being able to see what everyone else can’t. “Huh?”, we asked. He’s been telling us about these conspiracies, oh, the humanity, can’t you SEEE…. like some kind of demented, rabid animal. He sees things that nobody else would notice. For example, “socialist art” in the Rockefeller building.  God DAMN, we’re surrounded by socialism, everywhere!

There is no doubt in my mind that Beck’s condition is treatable, and even though he has a $32 MILLION dollar a year salary, he had the balls to make a comment about getting “good health care while he still can”. This was a cheap shot and an insult to 32 million Americans with no health insurance AT ALL who can’t get treatment unless they go to an emergency room. All right, Glenn, please read this while you can still see, since you say you’re “too lazy to learn braille”. STFU. You piece of human garbage, with your distaste for your fellow man, I hope you get treated by socialists who know what to do with people like you.

I read a story about this over at the San Francisco Chronicle this afternoon, and of course they get lots more hits there than we get at our little website. I would recommend you go over there and read the comments. Those folks in SF can come up with a few good ones, to be sure. Some samples…

You know what, Glenn? I HOPE you go blind. You need another life lesson, one that you apparently never got as a child, or while you were driving around in your DeLorean snorting coke off the steering wheel and laughing at all the heathens and homos on your radio show. Hell, you don’t NEED to GO blind, you already ARE blind.

Glenn Beck has made a colossal misjudgment by attempting turn the most pivotal speech of the 20th Century into an attempt to hawk his moronic books.

Forty-seven years ago this August, as we neared the end of legal racial discrimination in this nation, the civil rights battle was being waged in the trenches. Black and white marchers were being attacked and sometimes killed in the streets by mobs of white supremacists and the KKK. College students organized and disrupted business-as-usual in selected towns across the country. The intellectuals, socialists, anarchists, musicians, and clergy across the spectrum of left politics joined with black civil rights leaders to pressure the US Government to intervene on behalf of racial minorities to pass national legislation to outlaw racial discrimination in employment, public services, and elsewhere.

Into this rich sea of civil disobedience, protests, riots, lynchings, music, murder, and mayhem, a new historical revision is being trotted out by Glenn Beck and a few others who are shameless enough to try it. Here’s how it goes, according to Beck:

I have to tell you something. I believe in divine providence. I believe this is a reason, because whites don’t own the founding fathers. Whites don’t own Abraham Lincoln. Blacks don’t own Martin Luther King.

I tell you right now, we are on the right side of history, we are on the side of individual freedoms and liberties and damn it, we will reclaim the civil rights moment. We will take that movement because we were the people that did it in the first place.

Oh, so let’s see now, you’re saying that since nobody “owns” Abraham Lincoln or Dr. King due to being the same race, then the reactionary white racists of today led by the TeaBaggers, the GOP (former Dixiecrats), the 2nd Amendment pukes like the OathKeepers, homophobes and religious fanatics, can now take credit for civil rights???? Not only take credit for it, not only own it, but be the guardians of civil rights!

Beck says that his people, whomever they are, are going to “reclaim” the civil rights movement. He says they will reclaim it because “we were the people that did it in the first place.”

Let me interject one thing here. This is a partial rewrite of what I posted last night, and I didn’t have a couple of those quotes I used above. But let me assure you since I was THERE, I can attest to the plain truth that Glenn Beck and anyone who is like him today, if they were involved at all, were on the other side of the barricade.

Al Sharpton was the guest on Keith Olbermann’s show tonight (July 1) and the topic came around to the Glenn Beck book sale in the general area of the Lincoln Memorial scheduled for August 28. This coincides, not by any coincidence, with the 47th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I Have A Dream” speech, one of the most powerful and best-remembered speeches in American history. 200,000 civil rights movement supporters heard the speech live, jamming the Memorial and the reflecting pool mall with a sea of humanity that has only been outdone by Barack Obama’s Inaugural Address.

Mr. Sharpton pointed out that Beck’s thesis that his people are the heirs to the civil rights movement is so flawed as to be ridiculous. And he did it without even bringing up the racial issues (such as the fact that Mormons believe that black people are cursed by God and refused to let them enjoy the privileges of male membership until forced to in 1978). First, according to Sharpton, the TeaBaggers and such are the people who are always railing against Big Government, and now Beck is revising that to say that they were in favor of the national government of the US intervening in every aspect of Jim Crow to stop it. How effing stupid would you have to be to swallow THAT? Second, the people that Dr. King ran with were socialist, liberals, commies, and other people who are the political opposite of what the Becktards believe in. They constantly scream about “liberal elitists” and see “socialist plots” in any action that the government takes.

Thirdly, and probably most importantly, is that the GOP, the TeaBaggers, and their ilk, are the Party of Grabbasticism. They are not “anti-socialism” they are ANTI-SOCIAL. They have no idea whatsoever, no concept, of living in a community, a nation, with the commitment to each other that we all sink or swim together.

Grabbasticism is the term I like to use for “I got mine, SCREW YOU.” They never gave a crap about any person of color, back in 1863, 1963, or today. The only use they have for Latinos is doing yard work and working in nursing homes cleaning shit out of the diapers of their parents, whom they have no use for whatsoever once the inheritance is decided. The only use for blacks, well, they have NO use for them now that slavery is illegal. The GOP looks at black people as The Enemy. They will never vote GOP, never.

I will write more on Beck’s cracked thesis that he now leads the movement that “owns” civil rights as the August 28th date approaches. I believe that this is a HUGE miscalculation on his part; although there is no planned counter-demonstration at this time, I predict that August 28 will be a national day of humiliation that will generate so much anti-Beck backlash that even Fox will have to pull the plug on it.

Glenn Beck is going to play his hand. For a cheap chance to gather up a few complete idiots willing to part with their money, he is going to open up the wounds that were healed by the Civil Rights Act or 1964. He is going to make America relive the ugly truth, he is going to make us look in the mirror. Some of us will not like what we see.

Today Glenn tried to prove a couple of idiotic points about a dead person. (Just a thought, Glenn… I know you think you’re going to live forever, but what do you think people are going to say about you and your sister-screwing ass after you’re gone?)

OK so here’s the scoop. Beck thinks that it’s a “liberal media plot” that there is no film of Senator Robert Byrd filibustering the Civil Rights Act in 1964. First the fact, then the assumption.

The FACT is that no cameras were allowed in the Senate except for special occasions until 1974. Um, what’s the word I’m looking for here… um, IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, you DO ALL YOUR OWN RESEARCH, DO YOU???? Has anyone told you about Google, Glenn?

Now for the assumption. The assumption here is part of Glenn’s bigger argument that Byrd filibustered Civil Rights, and Byrd was a Democrat, and THEREFORE, (are you paying attention, Beck U students? This will be on the FINAL!) the GOP especially Glenn Beck OWNS Civil Rights!

Hi everyone – this is my first post on the main page of the site. I’m very excited to be contributing over here, and hopefully I can help to bring the site to its full potential. Glenn Beck Program – June 29th, 2010

Minute 0: Accuses the entire New York Times staff of being communists. The media only has a liberal bias, Glenn, because truth has a liberal bias as well.

Minute 1: Talks about the money that Canadian taxpayers are spending on the G-20 summit. Oh, so now Beck cares about Canada! And here I was thinking that he hated it, and its commie health care system.

Minute 2: He’s showing a hand-drawn chart displaying various countries’ GDP per capita. IT’S ERRONEOUS. You’re full of crap Beck. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_%28PPP%29_per_capita

Minute 7: Just listen to him, going on about the rich keeping their money. He never mentions the poor. He clearly doesn’t care about the lower class.

Minute 8: “America, I don’t think you’re stupid. But when a guy gets into a ‘scissors’ lift…” He repeats the term again at 10 minutes.

Minute 8: He’s going to make a solemn swear – and he puts his left hand up to his right side. Oops.

Minute 9: Discussing a phony timeline that he’s made, says “before Christ”. You can’t bring religion into news. This is entertainment, plain and simple. Religion is just another lie anyway.

Minute 12: “This guy in Cambodia… this general area.” He’s unable to pinpoint Cambodia on the globe – he’s not even in the right region.

Minute 12: He’s talking in a mock Russian accent now, clearly intending to be an “evil” character. What’s the purpose of this? Does he realize that the Cold War ended 20 years ago? Xenophobe.

Minute 14: Now he’s talking about Obama wanting to stop drilling for oil. Beck says we should continue to drill, and keep it all for ourselves. Well, yeah, keeping it all four ourselves is the only way that we’ll have enough to last a significant amount of time.

Note: There’s a long break here in which Beck goes in circles, repeating points that he made before.

Minute 25: He’s making an argument that government spending doesn’t work – and, oh, he just lost his own argument. He demonstrates that after WWII, after all the big spending, everything was relatively fine. Unintentionally beating down his own argument, the fool.

Again with the circles. This is how he fills his time apart from lying.

Minute 44: Oh! What do you know. He’s touting his new book in the middle of the show. This is a fiction book by the way. He’s not even using it for excerpts, he’s just giving it airtime.

Minute 45: Talking about the protests at the G-8/G-20 by people wanting to end capitalism. He calls them anarchists despite visual signs advocating communism and socialism. He also displays quotes calling these people servants of the community. Maybe that’s why he doesn’t like them.

Minute 46: He’s referring to that story where Mao was on an ornament on the white house Xmas tree. No, Obama did not put that there – they got community groups to decorate the tree. But I’m sure Beck knows that.

Minute 52: Oop, now he’s slandering the late Senator Robert Byrd. Leave it Beck to disparage the dead.

Minute 53: Talking about Byrd’s former KKK affiliation (which he apologised for on multiple occasions). Really Glenn? Somehow I think that you would have been first in line behind him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0tgvWxC_6A

Minute 59: “White people of America: Warning! you’re going to learn stuff about our country that you didn’t know, but you need to see it. African-Americans: I warn you – you’re gonna find heroes, American heroes, that for some reason have been erased.” I like how he narrows the whole thing down to these two races. Any Korean or Spanish viewers can just forget about it.

Al and Tipper Gore announced today that they are planning to divorce.

Given that Glenn Beck is a full-time hypocrite about “leaving the family out of it”, and given that he is prone to attacking advocates of issues rather than the issue itself, and given that he’s bat-shit crazy, we here at The Glenn Beck Report can confidently say that Glenn will begin a new attack on Al Gore as soon as today (June 1).

I will be following this story closely and report what he says as it flows from his lying mouth like poop from a goose. Maybe he’ll do a little skit about it, like he did when he was imitating Malia Obama asking her dad why he “hates white people so much”. Oh, but leave the children out of it.

I have a couple of other stories in the hopper. I want to report on why Falwell’s Liberty University, a fundamental “Christian” college, had Mormon cultist Glenn Beck deliver the commencement address. Also, I’m working on my “Glenn Beck – Domestic Terrorist” page which will clarify exactly how and why Glenn Beck is advocating the overthrow of the US government. And, still in the works, “Glenn Beck VS the Fundie Xtians”, part 3. This has been complicated by Glenn’s commencement speech at Liberty U. I believe I have already solved that riddle, and will be reporting on the alliance made in hell.

UPDATE 6/3/10

Instead of taking on Al and Tipper directly, Glenn Beck put up a link to a Newsbusters story (right wingnut lying sacks of shit) that states that CBS News thinks Al & Tipper broke up because of George W. Bush.

Perhaps Glenn has learned his lesson about taking people on for family matters. I don’t think so. He’s not done with Al and Tipper Gore just yet. I have a hunch he’ll try to sneak some more loathsome attacks in later. I’ll be watching you, Glennie…

Glenn is already known for his psychotic episodes on live television.  There is talk that a high percentage, even as much as 60% of his audience, tunes in because of the train wreck freak show.  It’s not because they like Glenn or agree with him, they want to see the man-baby melt down.

On Friday, May 7, Glenn didn’t disappoint.  He was hosting his “Founder Friday” show, where he “educates” an audience of handpicked, paid actors about topics that any school kid in America already knows about.  Except with Glenn, it’s like he just discovered it and it’s so moving, it’s so, it’s, it’s…. WAAAAAHHHH!

So Beck starts up about George Washington, whose greatness Glenn attempts to usurp and caricature as his OWN greatness by assumption.  The assumption is that Glenn is an authority to judge the relative merits of George Washington as a President by him having a TV show and having read a book (or claiming to have read it).   Glenn measures his own greatness by implying that he is actually informing you about the greatness of George Washington.  Sorry, Glenn, but you screwed the pooch on this one.  You don’t have the gray matter upstairs to interpret history.  Those of us who actually have studied history, particularly American history and government, already know that you are a whack job full of misinformation looking for a gullible, uninformed vidiot to dump it on.

Therefore Friday’s show was a perfect example of how Glenn can’t help from choking up when he’s telling you about his right wing Mormon fantasies concerning America.  If I were a director, at 3:27 of this short segment I’d be yelling “CUT. Where’s the motivation???”

Glenn breaks down in tears over the notion that as the American government was forming in post-Revolutionary America, people thought that Washington would be a natural for President as he had already proven himself to be a leader and had name recognition (mostly good).  WTF, Glenn.  What’s to cry about, man-baby?  Did you forget to take your Xanax again?

OMIGOD.  Again, at 7:10, Glenn can’t stand the idea of Washington having to put on glasses to read a letter.  Holy Mormon juice, Glenn, if you’re going to cry about that, why don’t you ever cry about the millions of Americans who can’t even get glasses when they need them because they don’t have insurance that pays for vision?  (I’m wearing a prescription that is at least 8 years old and sometimes my eyes water but it ain’t because I watch Glenn Beck and need a good cry.)

Glenn told Don Imus that Mother’s Day is a “progressive scam”.  He doesn’t know what they are trying to get us to do, but he’s not doing it.  Well, of course you can’t do it, Glenn, because your mother committed suicide so she wouldn’t have to look at your fat face again. That was years after your father ran out claiming it HAD to be somebody else’s sperm.

For those of you who don’t know the history of Mother’s Day, (like Glenn Beck who claims in this very conversation to have researched it himself) here’s a link that explains the origins of Mother’s Day . Hint: It’s NOT a progressive plot and it’s not a conspiracy from the greeting card companies. Naturally, being a Mormon, Glenn would never think of a day honoring women, which to him are not persons but property that ought to STFU and spit babies out of their vaginas like a Tommy gun.

In the same conversation Glenn suggests that Obama may have blown up the BP oil rig.  The crazy train chugs along….

Glenn Beck’s ratings have dropped. Everyone has their 15 minutes, Glenn, I just hope yours doesn’t run out before the year I took this domain name out for. BTW, I’d be interested in selling it to you, Glenn. Have your people call my people, we’ll do lunch. I’m thinking maybe 1/32nd of what you made last year?

George Bush is a Progressive?

I just about dropped my beer when I heard that one. Holy shit, Glenn, not even you can twist that one around. OK, now I suppose you have to have SOME explanation as to why the Nazi Communist Marxist Fascist Socialist half-cursed man in the White House is carrying on with pretty much the same policies that Bush did. But calling Bush a “progressive” defies even the most active imagination of a hyperactive mind like yours.

Progressive? Since when do progressives start illegal wars, give tax cuts to the wealthy and corporations, gut environmental protections, de-ball OSHA, push for fossil fuel consumption, run around the world like a bully, ignore both Constitutional and statute law, and that’s just what he got done before breakfast?

Anyone who is calling Bush, ANY Bush, a “progressive” obviously does not know their ass from a hole in the ground.

But that was obvious already. Maybe by calling Bush a “progressive” you can get your ratings to come back up…?

Glenn Beck has followers who hang on his every word and swear he’s the only one in media who is telling the truth. He hates to disappoint, but quite honestly, he’s not interested in politics unless there’s money involved.

An article penned by Lacey Rose to appear in the April 26 Forbes magazine states what should be obvious to anyone who’s been paying attention. Of course, Beck’s faithful are not paying attention, so they aren’t going to like this one bit. Glenn says “I could give a flying crap about the political process.” In fact, the only thing he appears to give a crap about is turning everything he touches into gold at the expense of gullible people who believe that he’s just some ordinary populist guy who got mad as hell and can’t take it any more.

According to the article, Beck’s business concerns took in $32 million (yes, 32) in the year ending March 1 2010. His primary stock in trade is paranoid delusional conspiracy theories, character assassination, outright lies, and fighting buzz words designed to put the deranged on the street with loaded weapons. Anyone reading this from a foreign nation may be surprised that Americans would spend this kind of money on this kind of bullshit. But you have to remember our history.

During the last half century we have undergone a massive upheaval of so-called “traditional values”. Those values still have a lot of support among certain groups, for example, Glenn Beck’s Mormon “church”. Racism and sexism are coded into their religion. Black people are cursed by God, and women know their place… or else. The Anglo population is predicted to become a minority during the first half of this new century, which is frightening to White America who identify this nation’s institutions, history, Founders, and so on as being lily-white as the driven snow. Just as America believes in American exceptionalism, white America believes in white exceptionalism.

Glenn Beck has figured out how to tap into this fear and loathing of change. Electing a half-black President couldn’t have come along at a more perfect time for Beck. Think of what he was doing just 2 short years ago at CNN. Sucking wind, for one thing. Now he’s such a darling for Fox that Rupert Murdoch is financing his show out of his own pocket.

All of this is transparent to the Beckerhead consumer. They don’t care about anything other than Beck offers an explanation for their misery and keeps stoking their fear. We like violence in this country. Don’t be surprised if there’s violence on the streets of Washington DC on April 19, the day that Beck’s TeaBaggers are going into the streets armed to celebrate the anniversary of Waco and the Oklahoma City bombing.

Anyone killed or injured in this process is just collateral damage. As long as it brings in more money, it’s good. All good.

Glenn has been licking his chops and sharpening his knives waiting for a new opportunity to “scoop” the socialist-Nazi-fascist-communist agenda of some target like Van Jones, the former Commissar of Comrade Obama’s Ministry of Energy.  When Eric Massa,  self-ousted US Representative from NY29th Congressional District  started running into problems, and then when he started going bat-shit-wakko, Glenn thought he might be able to get some juicy tidbits to stoke the fires under his boiling pot of conspiracy theory goo.

Glenn actually went on the defense/offense for Massa, claiming that he was really not one of the Bad Guys.  At least not any more.  Glenn said on Monday that Eric Massa was “like a Soviet defector”.  LOL. Oh, the information you can get from a former enemy of the state who turns. You see, if you’re a Democrat, you’re not really serving in the US government, you’re serving in the former Soviet Union.  It’s an insider game, you have to be a member of the communist-fascist-socialist-Nazi party first, but then once you prove your depth of loathing for America, and spit on/burn an American flag, then you can become a Democrat.

Beck decided to give Massa an entire hour today (Tuesday) to chat about all of the comings and goings-on in the belly of the Beast. a.k.a., the Democratic Party caucus of the US House of Representatives.

Some of you who frequent this site know that I never actually watch Glenn Beck’s show, but after watching some of the clips today I rather wish that I had.  Eric Massa must be a double agent, Glenn, because his idiotic, insane blathering made YOU look like a the guy in the big pants who just got seltzer squirted into them.  It was HILARIOUS! Beck had the look of someone who had just been delivered the knockout punch but hasn’t hit the floor yet. He was non-plussed, no matter what he did, no matter what tricks he tried, he couldn’t get Massa to say anything except that Rahm Emmanuel poked him while in a shower in the Congressional gym locker room. With his FINGER, now I know how some of you think!

This is a very weird story, and it’s just weirder because Beck hyped it up on his radio and TV shows yesterday, even getting negative attention from Michelle Malkin and Rush Limbaugh. (Today Rush promised to leave the country in 5 years if the current health care plan passes. If we all chip in $100, maybe he’ll leave in 1 year?) So once again the Beckster suffers and epic FAIL, this one might even have Rupert Murdoch wondering why the hell he’s footing the bill for Beck’s dippy show. Could it be the end of Glenn Beck’s free ride on the airwaves?

I will update this post later this week; I am rather posted out this evening having written my first and probably last “diary” over at DailyKos.  Markos Moulitsas made a point of joining Glenn Beck today with baseless attacks on two of my favorite progressives, Dennis Kucinich and Ralph Nader.  Kucinich was on Keith Olbermann Monday night delivering a succinct and cogent argument as to why we shouldn’t settle for the current health care bill.  I guess if you do that, you’re Ralph Nader and you caused 2 wars and everything wrong in the world today by “stealing” the election from Al Gore in 2000.  Really?!!?   If you want to read and comment on the “diary”, here’s a link:

Glenn Beck’s slash-and-burn schtick fired up the CPAC loony bin by repeating lie after distortion after smear, the most comforting material that he could present to America’s dead political party. It’s hard to imagine how so much crap could come out of a human being in a short period of time.

Beck (with Palin and the rest of the GOP) is attempting  to drag the TeaBaggers into the fold,  kicking and screaming, but they are so thick that most of them have yet to realize it.  Some of them are getting suspicious. (Hmmm… both of them are paid contributors to Faux News, the official propaganda organ of the GOP. Palin was the Vice Presidential candidate for the GOP in the last election. Glenn Beck has never said one nice thing about any Democrat.  Sarah Palin has repeatedly stated that she has no use for the “liberal elitists” and would rather be chasing down animals in a helicopter and shooting them with weapons designed for war than serving as Governor in a corrupt system.   Hmmm. D’ya think…?)

Tonight we hear that Beck and Palin are going on a 2-stop tour to TeaBagger-land, the first stop in Oklahoma, the intellectual center of gravity in America and also home to lots of fancy dancing by men in cowboy hats with shit-kickers that never saw any shit. Watching these two on the same stage reminds me of the dance scene with Gene Wilder and Peter Boyle in Young Frankenstein, doing the soft shoe to “Puttin’ on the Ritz” for a thrilled crowd until an explosion casts a flash of light on them.

At that moment the monster goes wild and runs amok. Surely whatever they say or do cannot stand the light of scrutiny by a critical press. Why else would Sarah Palin try to shut them out of their events? My other question… would Gene Wilder consider impersonating Glenn Beck for a parody remake of the scene?

I am looking for an “official” transcript of the speech and will try to get one up on a separate page. Ryan has done a great job of detailing the lying sack-o’-doody, but in case he’s missed any I’ll be doing my own fact check as well.

BTW, you should be careful when you search for Beck transcripts. I put this into Google and it spit up a link that tried to infect my computer. If this happens to you, please press Alt-F4 (the Alt key and the F4 key simultaneously) until all the windows related to your browser close. In this process, you may reboot your computer if you press the combination after all windows are closed; this is still better than having to disinfect your browser.

I am not sure who would want to discourage you from reading a transcript of Glenn Beck’s CPAC speech, which is why I will post a clean copy here when I get one.
