I have been over to the 912 Project site (guilty pleasure, kind of like staring at an impending train wreck).

They had a link to an article about the “true” meaning of Thanksgiving… and it’s not what you might expect. The story is that the TRUE meaning of Thanksgiving is celebrating the Pilgrims’ freedom to practice… wait for it… capitalism after escaping European socialism!

I can’t find the link to the story and it’s not showing up in Google, but I swear I saw it with my own two eyes. If anyone finds a link to it, please email it to me… wexler@glennbeckreport.com.

OK, it’s Thanksgiving and my wife and I just prepared and ate a very nice dinner which we made with our own 4 socialist/secular humanist hands. I’ve done some thinking about that friggin’ article that was even too WHACKED for the 912 Project. Here’s my response to the notion that the Pilgrims came here to escape socialism.

You’re ignorant LIARS. The Pilgrims came here so that they could practice their own religion, not to practice capitalism. But they DID practice capitalism, and how! And if you want to know how American capitalism works, the indigenous people that sat with the Pilgrims during the first Thanksgiving dinner provide us with a PERFECT illustration. American capitalism works by using power and deception to take whatever you want from those who don’t have the means to defend it, and if they get in the way just go ahead and wipe ‘em out.

To whoever wrote that dumbass article, and also to whatever racist fool at the 912 Project website thought that it was a good idea to link to it because it had the word “socialism” in it:

Who do you think was living here BEFORE Europeans came and established American capitalism? Where did they end up, how did they benefit from capitalism? They were wiped out in a savage and shameful series of genocidal wars, exploitation of military power, even germ warfare. This is the DISGRACE of capitalism, it shows what it does to the people at the bottom.

Happy Thanksgiving, warpigs. Are you happy yet? Not quite, I suppose, there are still a few of us in the middle class hanging on.

  2. Not sure if this is the link you’re looking for:

It’s point differs from what you’re describing above in that it asserts the Pilgrim’s failed attempt at socialism is what we are celebrating. That is to say Capitalism over collectivism.

Haven’t checked it’s veracity but naturally I find it suspect considering where it’s posted.

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family, William. Take Care

  3. Thank you, Jerry, and I hope you had the same. We just got done eating it, Round II, and I believe we’re ready for something else tomorrow.

Cheers, and I hope everyone in business had a great day today.

  5. Yes, I believe it is. I must have misinterpreted it from a quick scan instead of reading it fully.

Thanks for finding it, I should revise my piece and probably will when I have a moment.

I still think they were out to lunch on that one…

  6. Yeah, some big assumptions there. i’ve not had time to fact check it at all.

Their usual modus operandi is assert first–facts be damned till they get called on it.

That’s what makes that whole world go round…. hence glennbeck report.com!

That’s why you’re so needed. Thanks!

  7. They might as well be doing the 3 Stooge eye-poke to the religious right. Well, any of those folks are going to be long gone as soon as they find out about Beck’s Mormon deal.

Finally somebody admitted… Jesus was a socialist! You read it here but it won’t make The Holy Bible, Conservative Cut.

  8. I know you’re pretty agnostic. I’m a believer that’s been sick and tired of the religious right using the bible for their own purposes–going way back to the 70’s with Falwell and all of his nonsense.

They’d have you believe Jesus was a Republican hardcore capitalist. If they actually had to embrace the bible with any level of truth and consistency they’d have to face their utter hypocrisy regarding Christ’s teachings and the epistles.

They use the bible in politics for their own comfort and to preserve their way of life which to them trumps the real gospel message and its intended purpose.

Which if they do embrace “the truth” then Beck is a mouthpiece for a cult built on a doctrine of demons. That’s Christian-speak for: it didn’t come from God’s Word.
