Graham Shifts Gears: FW/REV/FW on Bus Rolling over Glenn Beck
Last week Senator Lindsey Graham, (R, SC) threw Glenn Beck under the bus and ran over him (see article below). This ought to be newsworthy to Glenn Beck fans, who have to be totally confused about Glenn’s politics by now. Is he GOP? Is he a Lib? A Mormon nationalist? An apocalyptic prophet? A teabagger? Or WTF is he?
Well, Senator Graham is definitely GOP. Whether or not he’s a “true conservative” is debatable; Graham is not a Bill Buckley conservative. However, when Graham speaks the GOP listens, and today the faithful got this message loud and clear: Glenn Beck does not speak for conservatives or the GOP. Here’s what Graham told Faux News this morning:
What I am saying, he doesn’t represent the Republican Party.You can listen to him if you like. I choose not to because quite frankly I don’t want to go down the road of thinking our best days are behind us. We need to act decisively. People are genuinely upset with how much money we’re spending up here. But at the end of the day when a person says he represents conservatism and that the country is better off with Barack Obama than John McCain, that sort of ends the debate for me as to how much more I’m going to listen. So, he has the right to say what he wants to say. In my view it is not the kind of political analysis that I buy into.
